I've been feeding mice to my 04 JCP since I got him. He worked his way up to hopper mice. I just started breeding my own rats recently and had several baby rats about hopper mouse sized. Even though he just ate a mouse on 2/10, I put in a rat, a little bigger than fuzzy size on 1/14. He went right over to it and gave it a great big Valentine Day hug and then he ate it right away. That was pretty encouraging especially since it was in the middle of the afternoon and I woke him up from a snooze to feed him. I usually feed him at night. I'm going to keep him exclusively on rats from now on if I can. I should have plenty of them now.
I was going to take a new pic of him, he climbed up on his perch on the warm side, right after eating and looked pretty picturesque but as luck would have it the batteries in my digital camera were dead...so here's a old pic.
