Morph?

Bighurt Feb 15, 2006 12:55 AM

I have had this Boa for about 2 yrs and I have no idea what it is Morph wise. It was sold as Het Albino, Het stripe. I have just never seen an animal so Black. These pics don't do it justice so I will work on some new ones. The photos are a year old today its more Black than every no Red at all. Could it be Melanistic?
Thanks
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy, where did you get it from? Who had produced it?

It looks to be of Central American origin...

The body coloring is odd, and the tail is quite dark....

Although there is a possibility of it being het albino and/or het stripe, chances are unlikely that it is a central american boa with these genes.

Any more info you can give us? or pics when it was younger?

Thanks, Joe

>>where did you get it from?

Upstate Exotics, don't think they are still in business.

>>Who had produced it?

I can't remember if these came from his stock the other two I got from him were but this one I am not sure of. He did sell them as 100% het for both Albino and Stripe but he hasn't proven out yet.

>>It looks to be of Central American origin...

I think it was sold as a BCI but can't remember. It was two years ago. Sorry no pics from when it was younger on digital I can see if I can find some old photos and scan them in but that could take awhile.

Those photos don't show the half of it, this snake is weird. I will take some pics and post them or if you perfer I can send you them via email.

Thanks for the reply.

I can't comment on the origin of yours, but it does look a lot like my female hets. I bought them from an individual who got them from Vision herp back in the day, with paperwork from Vision.

Now that you mention it I think I remember mine coming from Vision Herp Stock I just aquired them through Upstate Exotics.
Of course I could be wrong. What are yours Het for just albino? Mine has some other colors mixed in the side scales is that prevolent on yours as well? Have you proved her out?
Great looking Snake!

Thanks alot for the pics..
Unfortunately, Upstate Exotics didn't have a good reputation...
The animal may not be what they said it is.
Either way it is cool looking and would be interesting to try to prove out.

Thanks , joe
