I am SHAMED!!!!!!!! Pacman frog escaped!!!!

AnimalSquabbles Feb 15, 2006 02:53 AM

I have lots of pets, 9 snakes, 3 frogs, 4 tarantulas, and a scorpion. I just had a delivery today, a sunglow cornsnake and an ornate horned frog. I put the cornsnake away in its already setup cage. I didnt have the frogs tank setup yet and I wanted to give it some time to adjust since it had just been MAILED to me. SO anyway I leave it in its deli cup with moss and let it sit.

A couple hours later I'm on my way upstairs to turn of the heater and I see what looks like a rolled up sock on the step, so I go to pick it up and it moves and jumps, I was surprised and looked at it again (it was dark, hard to see) and its my new ornate horned frog. Escapes are a common thing with exotic pet keepers, normally the culprits are fast snakes and lizards that can just take off so its understandable. But for those of you who dont know, pacman frogs are probably the most immobile animals ever, theyre so fat they dont even move, but somehow this one found some way out of the deli cup (at first I thought it knocked it over but it was the exact same as I left it, it somehow climbed out without moving the top.)Jumped from the dresser to the ground, went across the room, out the door, around the corner, and was 4 steps down the stairs. The stairs lead right to the front door which was wide open, If I was 5 minutes later it would have went right out the front door and Id be the damn laughing stock of the pet keeping world.
