Is anyone else sick of winter yet?

Matt Harris Feb 15, 2006 01:57 PM

I tried to break the monotony of it, by flying to Miami last weekend to check on some snakes that arrived from Costa Rica, only to get stranded at West Palm Beach airport with a zillion other nitwits waiting for NYC dig out from the snowstorm. I ended up renting a car and driving straight through to Newark in 18 hours, as I had to be back by Monday morning for work. While it seemed pretty lousy at first(had a lonnnng time to ponder about stuff) it wasn't so bad, since all in all it was a good trip. Got to stop at Parrot Jungle and say 'Hi' to a friend there(Joe Waz) and see their MONSTER, near-18' saltwater crocc-"Crocosaurus", and saw some one gator floating in a canal.

Is any one else on the forum going to the All Florida Herp Conference March 25-26th?

Man, I can't wait until May 20th----Costa RICA!!!

I can't believe you all are complaining about 60/70 degree weather....come live in Chicago where its a balmy 40 degrees at the moment and forecasts should be dropping us down to the teens by the end of the week. Oh for those 60 degree days! We have actually experienced a very mild weather in this region so I'm not complaining too much.

Today it was 64 on the high and that is rarity in this time of year. However, like you said Mr. Carmichael...we have had quite a mild winter here in Ohio as well. Not much snow and very little ice. Quite shocking to tell ya the truth! I want to move somewhere that has 60-70 degree weather this time of year, that would be great and MUCH easier to house my crocs!

It's been a mild winter, but this last cold spell had us to -27C with a windchill of -40C. For those who don't know, -40F is the same as -40C.

60F is my summer
