i found 2 kingsnakes for sale that are pretty snazzy looking. ive only seen pics of them so as far as girth im not sure but the guy said they were 18 inches long and that they are 05 babies. my question is, is that a normal size for a 05 baby? 18 inches long!?!? the guy says he feeds them pinky mice. im thinking that an 18 inch snake should be eating something slightly bigger than pinkies but like i said ive never dealt with kingsnakes. they look cool and id like to maybe buy them but it seems like he may be underfeeding in my opinion. also, how difficult is it to get kingsnakes to mate (since kingsnakes eat other snakes)?

Kings aren't as cannibalistic as you may think... I know a couple dozen people that breed them and none of them had any breedings turn into feedings this past season.

A 18" king on pinkies does not sound off by much... If at all. For example, a scarlet kingsnake at 18" would only be able to get down a pinky mouse. I have a california kingsnake at about 27" that will only eat pinky mice right now.

It would help you specified what kind of kingsnake it is.

Well then it definitely doesn't seem too odd. I still had most of my cali kings on pinkies when they were 18".
