I fully agree that a horizontal heat gradient is more efficient for housing Chondros than a vertical one, as they seem to like to go to the highest spot on the enclosure and often compromise one comfort for another (being at the highest point in the enclosure.). Though i know a few well known and respected breeders who will tell you otherwise
