Unusual behavior

chucknation Feb 15, 2006 08:50 PM

My new 2 month old beardie, who eats crickets and greens daily is acting kinda wierd. She will run along the short edge of the cage and try to climb the wall(I have a 40 gal glass aquarium) and doesn't stop. She'll do this for long periods of time and I was wondering if anyone nows what this might mean. I use paper towels for substrate at the moment. Thanks for any help.

When my beardie was younger, he would scratch at the side of his cage, try to run up the walls, or try dig himself out.

Usually it meant he just wanted out. So I'd take him out and have him hang with me for a while, and the second he was out he'd be fine. But as soon as I put him back in, he'd want out again and scratch the glass endlessly.

He also did it because he wanted food and after feeding him a couple worms he was all set. He doesn't do it anymore, so I guess they grow out of it.
