Does anyone remember?

About ten years ago at the big show in Orlando there was about twenty five, what looked like adult wild caught erebennis at one of the tables. I will not mention the name of the importer but yes it was an importer that is still in business. What was up with that?

I don't recall anything about Texas indigos in Orlando, BUT PEOPLE PLEASE STOP POSTING PHOTOS OF YOUR CHILDREN ON THE INTERNET. It's a dangerous practice. At he very least, those images are there for anyone to use and abuse.

Hope nobody are so much allienate in the community...But we never know

May I ask what is so dangerous about posting pics of your children? I see that all the time and I actually like seeing pictures of kids with smiles on their faces holding animals.

I am not sure how someone could abuse the pics.....I am not naive but I really don't see any harm in it.

I am not ragging on you being as cautious as you are but I would really like to know what is so dangerous about it.

Take care-

Brett

I am still trying to figure that one out too.

I believe that the vast majority of people are decent and good. I also believe that there is a small segment willing to do the worst things imaginable, given the opportunity. The internet is an anonymous place and I would not want photos or knowledge of the existance of my children and where they live available around the world. The same applies to posting photos of wives or girlfriends. It's not a direct email to somone you know. It's posted information to all who stumble on it or seek it with purpose. Maybe I've read too many serial killer novels but it's a valid point of view.

I will never let the bad intentions of others impinge on my freedom or the freedom of my children.

I do not loose much sleep over the boogieman but I do deal with problems as they arise. I have come to realize that this is not a perfect world but I will be damned if I will let the thugs in this life dictate to me how to run my life. A week after the twin towers were taken down I booked a flight to Costa Rica since no one else wanted to fly. I did that to make a statement. The statement was (My freedom is intact.) There are no guarantees when we wake up in the morning that you will make it to the end of the day since nothing in this life is eternal but I live my life with a measure of faith.

I pray for the soul that ever prey's on me, my family or my future children. If someone really wants to find you they can.....you just really need to be aware of your surroundings and keep your family as safe as possible never letting your guard down.......but that's always how it's been even before the internet...

I like your style Bill.....

It is not me you have to worry about at my house!

We are not talking infringement of RIGHTS here.
In **My humble opinion* if you fel as if your rights are being infringed upon, than take a **GOOD LOOK** at the current administrations attempts to wiretap citzens without congressional approval. Rights...what rights?

Not putting pics of your kids, your old lady, or the combination to your snake room front door on the net are just common sense. If you are willing to trust that others out there have your best interests at heart, than you would also be willing to trust that this government has your best interests at heart. In that case you deserve whatever comes your way. Naivety has its price. Trust can be costly. Esp if a family members PAYS IT. Better to not take chances of this nature. My opinion.

Im truly sorry if this sounds harsh, but in my opinion Steve is right, there are screwed up people out there who would think nothing of trying to hurt a kid or a woman or an elderly person, just for the sake of doing it.Lets not give them any cannon fodder to launch at us or our loved ones.

*Cheers*

I recall a couple of people who acquired individual permits to bring spceimens back from Mexico about that timeframe, as I acquired a couple pairs of Abronia graminea from one of them and have been working with them to acquire permits for another trip down, very long and drawn out process I might add.
Anyhow, I do not recall any D. m erebennus coming in on those permits, but it's possible I missed them. This would have made them legal WC specimens, though I believe such would have required transfer to the West, as I have been given the impression D. m erebennus taken in Mexico, even by permit, still cannot enter the U.S. through Texas...

Best regards,

Jeff

Max was there and brought it to my attention last night. We looked at them together. They had a speckled racer on the table that I was interested in but things just didn't look right. After reading the article/add in reptile magazine I was wondering if that wasn't in fact how people get set up to fail?

Speckled racers rock! I've never seen a cbb offered for sale and have only seen wc's available once in a while for $100 and more. I can't believe no one has bred them in captivity yet. They are gorgeous!

I think they are frog eaters. My hunch is that they are born snall and would be very hard to start.
