Put down some nice flooring

This is my first cage that I've been adding to since its construction last month. I put down and caulked the vinyl flooring, I'm much more confident about its durability now. I still have to install the heat on the inside ceiling of the cage though. Would it be ok to leave the vinyl exposed (ie no loose substrate)? It's got enough texture for a snake to move comfortably over and couldn't be any easier to clean. Anyway, I'm thinking of putting a JCP in here. Comments on the cage welcome.
