Should the male have shed also?
My banded female is in the blue and I want them to breed as soon as possible.
Last year I hatched 20 babies and I hope for more this year even after selling 14 of my snakes and my rodent colony.
I'm still waiting on my blizzard to shed. Her and my snow should make some great amels...

Dont think it matters for the male. when they are ready to go, they go.

I agree. Males are ready when ever. Everything that I read states that males will even try when getting ready to shed. Don't know how acurate that statement is, as I have yet to breed my snakes, but just wanted to throw it out there. My male has been ready to mate since he came out of brumation. Its the stuck up females that I am having trouble with. One has lightened up and should shed in the next few days. We'll see if that puts her "in the mood". lol
One of my males, though, freezes when ever a female is in the cage. I often wonder if the "virgin" snake is gonna know what to do when the time comes!
