I breed my own food for my reptiles so I can be sure they are not contaminated and are raised on a quality diet to make them better feeders, currently I am raising crickets and mice, the mice were for my snakes, but they have grown too large for such small prey, so i am going to use them for my monitor, and the same thing with crickets, what other food can i feed my savannah monitor?? I mean hes getting pinkies and large crickets dusted, everyone keeps telling me that variety is the key to good monitor health, well what are acceptable foods other than mice and crickets? i bought a bunch of meal and wax worms then learned they ahd no dietary value, and u have to remove the heads, well then it just seems easier to feed them somthing else, what else are you supposed to give em? Im going to buy a bunch of roaches, what kind should i get, im ordering from LLL reptile they have madagascar hissing, blaptica dubia, and blaberus discoidalis, which of these should i get for breeding, id like to feed him as much variety as possible but i dont know what else to breed or feed......
ps my monitor is still young less than a foot
