Corn Snake's Maturing thru Life

khorne08 Jul 26, 2003 08:53 PM

I dont have a problem or anything...but i was just wondering... When i got my corn snake a few months ago he would "gum" his food and make sure it was a mouse Anyways now when i feed him ( hes grown a few inches, 2-3 sheddings) he shoots at his pinkie and then in mid air!!! midair! Puts coils on it and tries to suffocate it (its frozen). Im just amazed. So anythoughts on this any1?

I think I recall someone posting recently who said that they are more likely to slam an undersized meal. I'm going from memory (and I'm over 40!) so correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, my albino black rat had been hitting her mice like fury. When I switched up to rat pups that were significantly bigger, she went back to a more gentle approach. Just an observation.
My "problem eater" underweight snow corn yearling had been refusing anything but headless pinks for awhile. Now she hits whole ones like a freight train. Have fun. Duffy
