I've been incubating a pair of crested eggs for a few weeks now, and in the past couple of days they have begun to mold slightly. Should I dispose of them now or wait for them to colapse? They're still firm and white; is it possible that they'll still hatch?
I don't want to toss them if there's still a chance they'll make it. Thanks in advance for any info.

it is extremely unlikely that they will hatch. once the egg starts molding, it is usually a sign that whatever is inside has begun to rot.
the only time i've had eggs start to mold is when they seep slightly from the bottom, or the incubation medium is contaminated with egg yolk from a previous hatchling.
feel free to keep it incubating, but it is most likely bad.
first clutches from females are often times infertile as well.

mold can develop on eggs for several reasons. sometimes it is because the egg itself is bad but others it is just because mold likes to grow in warm damp conditions which incubators usually always are. unless the egg collapses or starts to smell bad, i would keep incubating it till it either starts to stink or hatches.

Thanks for the info! I gues I'll leave 'em alone for awhile, just in case. I only have one breeding pair, so this really sucks! On the bright side, my female is laying another clutch as I type this reply. I'll keep my fingers crossed for these ones.

Thanks again
