Here's a few Specks to check out. Funny how these and Splendida are just not half as popular as other Kings. This particular one went nuts when I went near it trying to bite....ready to eat for sure. Gonna be a fun night. Tom Stevens

These all held their weight through brumation and actually look as if they never stopped feeding. Awesome snakes Tom Stevens

Very nice animals, Tom! I like speckleds too. I did manage to make certain that I have at least one pair in my predominately Eastern King collection.

Those are some of the nicest specs I have seen. Really textbook.
Thanks Don, I really like them a lot too. Now if they only grew as fast as Brooksi LOL. Tom Stevens
Tom,
Those are really nice. There are so many "less than attractive" specks in captivity that it is good to see someone working with nice, evenly speckled snakes.
Any idea of their origin? I have seen quite a few of these sort of "perfect" holbrooki in south-eastern Texas.

I heard from Terry Vandeventer this week and he mentioned "Those are perfect-looking Ozark Mountan speckleds!" when he saw the pics I posted. If I am not mistaken he did breed more than one locale into the White Sided project to hopefully strengthen the line which is very young, but it is great he was thinking ahead. I actually made a mistake as all 3 pics I posted are the females. The male is a tiny bit different looking and I will get some pics up of him asap. The handful of people that got to see the White Sided Speck all loved it, but every person also really liked the hets too as they're really nice looking snakes. Thanks Tom Stevens
