Where are the cb Northerns

vegasbilly Feb 17, 2006 10:34 AM

Hi all,

I'm just curious but it seems to me there are rarely cb Northerns posted for sale in the Classifieds - or at least when I look. There are "plenty" of Basins but not often are cb Northerns offered for sale. Is it because Basins command such a higher price? Could it be this time of year? Lots of Chondros come in as "farm raised" - is this starting to happen w/Northerns. Are Northerns problematic breeders?

Just curious.

I think that the reason you may think this is that most true CBB are seasonally available, usually starting it late summer and trickling off by later winter.

There are plenty of nice Northerns out there and I think the demand is higher for them compared to basins just based on affordability. When some breeders have babies these days, most of them are spoken for soon after birth so you may not see alot of classified adds out there because of this as well.

If you're looking for a killer Northern baby I believe the Clark's have one available from Velevet's last litter. I also know of some cbb available animals so feel free to write me for more info.

Unfortuneatly, we sold the last guy about a week or so ago. Oddly enough he and his brother are both headed in Vegasbilly's direction (assuming he is from Nevada) one to Reno and one to Vegas. LOL

Yup, I am in Vegas! Just considering downsizing some of my Chondros and expanding my meager (0.1) foray into Emeralds. I figure if I keep them in the same room as my montane Chameleons it will work fine.
