Andy is a great choice for pastels and salmons. His stock is very clean and very colorful. Not sure if he has any left. Some others are East Bay Vivariums "red group boas," pastels from Summit reptiles, or the man that started them, Jeff Ronne at Boaphile.com I'm sure you are looking for a "proven pastel line" and some in the classifieds are not. I would personally wait until this upcoming season to get a better selection. I'm pretty sure Summit and EBV and Andy have sold out of their stock this year but all of these breeders have awesome pastels for a great price. Good luck.

I would check with Joe Rollo (bcijoe) to see if he has any left from Brandon Weik (summitreptiles)litter. They are expensive, but well worth it in my opinion.

I have real ones. It's hard to compete with the bigger names. Pastels are as close as you can get to normals any more.

Mine were born in July, '05, I was unable to sell any of them in the Classifieds even when asking only $125-150 shipped.

"Pastels are as close as you can get to normals any more."

People who own pastel boas can and will see a difference between "normals". I think comparing a pastel boa to a normal is a real disservice to the line. Or, saying it's the new normal.....Maybe I am not fully understanding what you are meaning as well. If so, I apologize. I not trying to be a butt head. Just clarifying.
I am pretty adamate about this since I love and own a few pastels. I try to "fight the good fight" when these issues come up.
Like most boas, you will find verying degrees of the pastel trait. The selling price should reflect the animal. It's akin to the hypo boa. You'll see some ok ones selling for the low 300.00's. You'll also see them up around 2000.00 .
Do the animals you are selling exibit the pastel definition? I would say yes. Do I think your price was fair? I do. I sold a few of my pastel babies at that price when I had my last litter.
They were pastel in nature/looks. They have the Lucy pastel bloodline in them. But, their price was lower due to the lessened visual appearence of the trait.
But, the one big issue is..........A lot of people are selling normals/"low grade" pastels on the classifieds. Many people see these animals and think to themselves........"That's just a high priced normal." In a lot of cases I think they are correct. I just got done having a small conversation with a friend that is sick of the pastel name. He may even start calling his pastels "nice normals" to get away from the pastel name. I respectfully disagree. But, to each their own. (Yeah, you may be bigger and stronger..........But, I'm sneaky. LOL!)
I am always looking on the classifieds. Maybe one in ten of those animals are a good representation of a nice pastel. Matt Crabe's pastel is a great example. I saw that for sale and thought to myself I should buy that. It's a beautiful animal and comes from a great bloodline/litter. There is nothing normal about that boa in my opinion.
Just my rant. I think the pastel trait is getting muddied by "normals" being called pastels. Another example of this was the Jungle controversy. When jungles were hot. Everyone and their mother was calling/selling their animals as jungles. This screwed a lot of people I think. They paid for a bloodline that was not from the original swedish bloodline. Therefore, it could not and should not be considered a Jungle. Anyone remember the "Cungle boa"? LOL!
My pastels come from an existing bloodline that were originated by the founder of the name. Are their other pastel bloodlines out thier? Of course! There are some awesome ones out there! As usual, it is a buyer beware environment out there.
Enough of my rant. I'm off to work.
Have a good one. Sorry for the grammer errors. This was types fast so I could get out of here.

I agree with you. Some Pastels are better looking than hypos and other morphs. What I meant was that they are nearly as common any more as normals. They are too easy to find. Whether or not they are actually Pastels, from Pastel breeding, the Classifieds are buried in them.

The picture I have above is not a very good picture. It doesn't show his color unfortunately. Looking at him next to some of my Hypos, I can't wait to see what he will produce. He is like no other boa that I've seen. He is a funky yellow and pink and all of his saddles are pure brown, and his tail has dark lining around the red. He is a sweet boa.

I have his brother that almost always has a blue tint to him. I can only slightly get his color in pictures, but he's also amazing.

I love Pastels and the variances among them.
