nest boxes

screamingwoman Feb 17, 2006 11:16 PM

Tried this in housing and enclosures...tooooo slowww I am impatient.!! I am currently using the Sterilite 1960 tubs. They are 34.75 x 16.5 x 6.0high. What kind of nest box should I use in prep of her laying the eggs? This is my first attempt of breeding of BPs. Have done corn snakes with much success.

TIA

Balls don't really need a nesting box - when they are about ready to lay they will push the substrate out around where they are going to lay and then lay in that (if you use newspaper you'll probably miss this little prelay clue). Most likely she will lay over the heat or in her hide if it is big enough (if it's not you might want to remove the hide when she nears laying).
