Awesome Al! I look forward to the rest of the pics you've compiled. Incidently, the bandy bandy, that's a very little-known elapid in these parts. How hot are they? And how was it's attitude?

Hi Chance:

I caught two Bandy Bandys they were both very spastic trying to get away. I was told by a local herper who was with me who said they "never bite" and they just grab them as "Harmless". I told him earlier in the day that "never say" they don't bite because they will. Sure enough while tailing the second one it was biting anything that got close to it's mouth. I HATE TO BE RIGHT sometimes. If they can't escape they do this "hooping" thing with their body. I have it on video because they just did not stay still enough to get a still photo of the behavior.

Last night I was rained out but I saw almost all I wanted to see except a Common Brown.

Heading back to Sydney and the airport for my 22 hour ride home.

Will post more when I get back.

Best,

Al

Vermicella are harmless Ramphotyphlops eaters.

I don't consider ANY Elapid harmless. They used to sell Keelbacks (Rhadophis) as "harmless" too until someone had a bad bite. Prevention is the best cure!
