the Monmouth Co., NJ Eastern is looking pretty beat. Im not sure he will make another year. Im pulling him up fropm brumation early as he is losing weight. All my other Kings are maintaing their weight but him. Hopefully he eats in a few days as he is one of those snakes that shuts down feeding in late September. This guy has been around a loooongtime. Even though Ive owned him for 4 years Ive been admiring him much longer. He was pictured in an article on Eastern Kings in the now defunct mag Reptiles & Amphibians MagazineThe article was written by Jonathan Wright of Canada (see scan). He is the fellow who gave me this King (I had to drive to Canada to get him !) Anyway Im feel like Im writing an obit but he is one of the few Kings I have that I do feel some emotional attatchment to. Not to say I dont love my animals but there are always a few special ones. Hopefully he is gonna be okay but Im kinda pessimistic of his chances due to age etc...

That post kind of made me sad!!!
I hope he gets out of his funk and sticks around a bit longer to pass on more of his genes!!!
It will be a sad day when that famous old boy is no longer with us.
