Hello again, I am glad to have joined in on this forum it is awesome to see everyones pictures and the joy people have with these snakes. But I sometimes get severly frustrated with the fact that no matter what site you go to they tell you something different about how to care for the snake. Currently I have reptile carpet down and I think I am going to switch to papertowels, that is what I have used before but I switched for whatever reason. Is it crucial that she can burrow?
Also, she is obsessed with sphagnum moss, because that is what she was raised in, what are some good tips on how to break her of always going for the sphagnum moss and to utilize all areas of her 20gallon world? How long is too long to be in the humidity box?

Hey,
One thing you should do is post some information on your set up, more specifically, what size snake are we talking about here? etc. Size does matter for a blood and the larger the cage, the harder the cage will be to control the heat and humidity, particularly with a glass aquarium. I don't use them, and don't like them for bloods, and should only be used for fish and snakes when there is nothing else. Basically a temporary enclosure. Give me (us) some snake stats and we'll give you the rest. Size and age etc!

I would not use carpet at all as it will not hold any humidity at all.. Paper is defentely better then what you have. He is in the moss just trying to get some where it is more humid.. NO GLASS TANKS, NO GLASS TANKS. Ryan Norris
