Flying gecko aggressiveness?

robdamanii Feb 18, 2006 08:16 PM

Hey folk, question for you all.

I saw a beautiful little flying gecko today, and when I took it out to look closer at it, it latched onto the palm of my hand and held on for dear life. And holy cow was it....painful...

My question is: is this kind of gecko aggressive all the time? I've got a great crestie who likes to be handled and I've got a young leopard that I just rescued from a pet shop who was doing it ill will. I'd sort of like to be able to take this critter out of the tank every now and then and handle it, but I also don't want to be chewed to hamburger by it every time I try to be nice to it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Rob

Fyling geckos aren't really ones to be handled. I have 6 right now and I bother them as little as possible. I've read gentle handling is not out of the question, but mine don't seem to enjoy it at all. It stresses them out. Not to mention they're fast and can run up walls.
