Hey steve..........i started collecting these types of balls back in 2000.........i now have 13 different bloodlines and 3 gravid females.
I believe them to be genetic.........i will know this year if its dominant or recessive.
The Majestic Ball pythons are prodominantly striped, however i have 1 male that is banded and 1 male that is probably a phantom ball as well. and 1 male that is striped.
They are "Keepers"

This is my male ball python that i think is a phantom ball python...........i got him from africa several years ago.
John berry has one as well and ours are pretty much the same and i have bred my male to 3 females this year.
Karl i thought that phantom was a "lesser" majestic??????? Is a dam stunning snake though.
Those three head spots the only defining feature of what you have are extremly common, notice you never replyed to my links on rdr a year back where i pointed you to many cf normals with the same markings for sale in the uk.
Three clutches, they all maj by maj? i really do hope you produce something speical from them and shut us all up but i wont hold me breath just yet either.
i believe this girl qualifies as a majestic. she has a broken stipe down her back that becomes better toward the tail. she has the head dots. the attached pics are good but they dont show her grey color as well as i had hoped. what characteristics make a phantom ball, i am not sure. please let me know what you think.
joe

she looks good.........she is what i call a "lesser Majestic" due to her head spots not being borded in black and the middle spot is washed out a bit.......but she is definately a lesser majestic............KEEP HER
I'll know if the trait is dom or rec this season.......for sure.

Hi Karl,
I think they will prove out and be either dominant or co-dominant, I highly doubt they will be recessive. Do you have pictures of your others?

I think they will either be dominant or incomplete dominant as well..........!
I do have pics of the others.........just have to find them.
Jaymc..........other characteristics are dorsal striping.........except for my banded male and the phantom which is a "lesser majestic".
Majestic.......3 head circles bordered by black
lesser majestic........3 head circles not bordered by black.
I bred lesser phantom x .1 lesser maj female, "New Morph"-awesome crazy.......!!! and type a jungle
I bred Banded lesser X Majestic female, lesser maj female, normal
The new morph i have named "Sun Ball Python" it is as bright as a lemon pastel........but with Black eyes and a pattern that is comparible to a platinum ball or lesser platty.......really cool..........Black/yellow. I will post pics in a couple days.
