i really want to get a RETF but they're pretty expensive for a beginner at tree frogs. I was wondering if there was another tree frog that has similar living conditions as a RETF and is a bit cheaper to see how i am at taking care of them.

There are alot of frogs that require the same conditions.. unfortunately, most are about the same price as the RETF..
If you do you homework, and make sure you have a tank setup correctly and keep the conditions within the proper boundries, you should be fine. Also, make sure that you get a captive bred animal, they tend to be much healthier (and a bit more expensive).
Anyways.. just do some searches for care sheets, study them, and make sure you tank is stable before bringing them home..
Good luck..
