Red Iguana

Here is a pic of my new red phase green iguana, Lava. I have recently changed his bedding to shredded newspaper from the bark bedding.hope everyone likes!

I was thinking the same thing. He looks a bit on the dry side.
Stunning animal!!! I wonder what they look like as adults? Has anyone seen an adult red?

never seen an adult. i found a few pictures of other juvenile reds after seeing this lil guy, but no adults.

Do they change colors in breading season so you know when to look out?

I saw those as well a few months ago...I asked an employee about them, and his response was that their temperments were nastier than normal, and that they are inbred to produce such colouration. I do believe he said that the colouration will chill out in adulthhod. I don't know how much of that is true, other than those things were MEEEEEEAAAAAAAANNN!!!! Pretty ig, Good Luck with him/her!

That is the sweetest looking lizard ive ever seen, here are mine. U probably cant see them very well but it was the best pic I could get.

It is just a color mutation and has no impact on the temperment of the animal. They stay red throughout adulthood, but the red isn't as intense. Alot of reptiles are inbred to an extent to get a certain trait. For example, a person hatches out two pastel bp's, one male one female, well those siblings are probably going to mate and produce supers someday. -Joe Decareau
