When ever I have had to transport any of my animals when its cold I would stick a towel in the drier for awhile (just till it was nice and warm but not hot) stick it in a rubbermaid or sterilite tub, set the snake ontop of the towel, close it up and head out.

I put the boa in a big thicker flannel pillow case. Put a BIG jacket on me and put the boa inside the jacket with me and have hubby drive to the vet.

I really do not know if I am doing the right thing, but what I do is get a snake bag and put the animal inside my jacket. By the time I take him out at the Vet. the animal is still nice and warm, with my body heat. Again I do not know if anyone agrees with me.

If you're not in an old pick up truck with no heat , and it's not a long drive, I'd say just start the car and let it warm up good inside before you leave. Carry the boa to the car in a snake sack under your jacket. I've transported several snakes to and from school "pet day" outings this way with no problems. As long as the interior of the car stays warm, so will your boa. JMHO

Thats what I was going to recomend. Unfortunatly my pick up or my old Toyota dose not have heat, well they have it but it dosnt work, the only car I have with a working heater is being sold as we speek. Where I live however temps below the high 40's in the coldest part of winter are extreamly rare.
