Hey everybody, I acquired a Uro as a rescue and it is my first. I do keep other reptiles though. I have noticed in the weeks that i have had him that a crusty white sibstance appears around his nose. He doesn't seem to mind when i removed it and he is eating just fine. Is this normal or should i be concerned. Thanks V

Alot of lizards expell excess salt, they sneeze it all over the glass you will see white splatters as well as the white crust you are seeing on the nostrils.

This usually disappears on it's own after a few days, but if you see alot or thinks it's blocking the nostrils, just use a q-tip (with warm water) and swab it off.

He's fine. Very normal.

Only time to worry is if you would see mucus coming from nose or mouth, then it would be a major concern and need to have medical treatment asasp for respiratory/bacterial infection.

The amount of salt will change with diet. Bruce had a lot of salt (see pics) for a couple weeks, but he hasn't had any significant amount for about a month. It will come and go, but is completely normal.
