plz help I want a pixie!!!

I was looking for a Pyxicephalus adspersus, not edulis, and every store I go to they don't know the difference and call them pixie frogs. Is there a way I can tell between infant dwarfs and the giants? Also, at a young age how can I differ between male and female? plz respond I would greatly appreciate it!!!!!!
