this is what i want to do.. i stole the stream thing from pogospals.. i dont know how hard it will be to do.. but im willing to try it.. and for thier hide area, i am going to make a box of wood and cover it with tree branches (thats what the thing in the bottom left corner is.. i think on top of the cement blocks ill put some plywood down, to make a lip on the enclosure so they cant climb out.. i was just lazy and didnt want to draw it..

WOW that is neat! I need to figure out a way to landscape mine when it's built, I like that drawing.

Right now we still have a bit of morter sand in the area where our pen is going to be. It's left over from when they built the fence last spring.
I discovered that local cats are using it for a litter box, ewwwwwww.
That little pile has got to GO before the boxies can live there. Yuck

thanks! im planning on adding more visual barriers and some edible plants.. but the first step is going to be setting up the border and the pond area.. i talked to a guy i know that does fishtank maintenance and setups for a living and he said that for a pond with a stream all i would need to do is dig out the area for the pond and add the soil and rocks to elevate the part the stream will come down, put down a pond liner, put a magpump down in the pond with a flexi tube going up to the top and then add the rocks.. sounds simple enough.. seems almost too easy.. im completely excited, ive been waiting to give my boxies a nice outdoor area for so long! plus, the basement is huge.. so i can build an indoor enclosure down there for my babies..

I really like your idea for a pen with a stream in it. I wish I could convince DH to fix one for my turtles too! I guess I better just be glad that he agreed to help me fix the enclosure in the first place. Anyway.......you have a very nice idea there. Please post a picture of it when you get it complete. I would love to see it! ......9boxies

Very nice drawing! Be sure to place the pen in an area where sunlight will be able to enter the pen for most of the day. For example, if this pen was placed on the north side of your house-it may not get sun for most of the year. I have a pond and stream in my pen. But unlike Marty's, I keep my box turtles out of the pond area. One day I will post a pic
