My baby broke her leg HELP!!!

obsolescenttears Feb 20, 2006 07:28 PM

Blighter has been spazzing because we had to move our Cornsnake next to her because its too cold where she was at ( In minnesota) anyway shes been flipping out climbing her cage walls runnign around not eating ect. We have cardboard up so she cant see the snake and vice versa. Our breeder said she will cool off in a couple days ( she had the same problem)

Unfortunatly she broke her damn leg while flipping out ( front left) and I dont know what to do. I turned off the main heat sorce so that the tank would go into night heat of 80 degrees so she will just lay still and not do any more damage but other than that what do I do? What can I do?

i su ggest moving the snake into an other room, since it obviously frightens the poor dragon. since she has broken her leg, take her to a vet asap. only a vet can take x-rays to determine if the bone is in fact broken, or just bruised and if broken, set it properly to heal.

if not taken to a vet and the bone is broken, it can easily heal wrong, leaving your dragon unable to move around normally. if the bone is badly broken, infection could set in and eventually kill your dragon. so the best thing to do is get him to a vet today.

A vet visit is your only option.
Setting the tank to night time temps of 80 degrees may slow her down but won't allow her to digest her food. She also will stop eating and this will weaken her allowing infection to set in.
Please take her to the vet and have them do what is need for her leg.
