Refreezing Fowl

Bojangles18 Feb 20, 2006 08:15 PM

I recently purchased some quail from RodentPro for my bp. She is not eating (which is regular right now), but she is very picky anyways, and I thought she may take some fowl as opposed to rodents. Anyway...I was wondering about refreezing the fowl one time and feeding again if they are not eaten the first time. I have done this with rodents and rabbits with no ill effects, but with fowl, I have heard they can grow bacteria much faster. Anyone know if this is ok to do? Any truth to the bacteria thing? Will freezing kill the bacteria that may have grown?

first...it is said to refreeze nothing...ever......

......you have done it and you know the world doesn't end if you do

it isn't cool....but it is done.....

I don't do it..I throw away alot of stuff......

.......will all bacteria die from the commone house freezer....nope....they are not that cold......and bacteria is capable of extaordinary things........

...do as you wish.........it's your ballgame.......

all I can tell you is stop trying to feed the balls.....let them go longer between tries.......you can tell when something changes in them and they are hungry.....just watch them.....

most of my stuff is off right now.....it suxx....

I know it is said by some never to refreeze, but is there proof out there that refreezing once will have any negative effects? Just curious...not saying that it is right or wrong. I really have not been trying to feed the ball very often...probably once every 2 or 3 weeks. She has been off for probably 3 - 3.5 months now.

I don't know about % of bacterial growth......

but I do know that if it sets in my room at 85 degrees for a couple hours it's gonna stink........and freezing stinky animals doesn't take away the stink..it just makes the freezer stink........and stuff that is in it

the gut will be soggy too in rodents and I imagine birds will drip fluids from the mouth......

,,........all up to you

.......

we tell you all what to do and you can read about more than one burn or death a day,.......
