what type of wood do I use?

bluetreefingers Feb 20, 2006 09:03 PM

i am currently designing a cage unit, which will be about 3Hx5L feet. containing 8 or 10 small cages on the top 2 rows and one large on on the bottom one.
before i got started i wanted to hear some advice on the best type of wood i could use.
something that can hold humidity pretty well.

does anyone have any links to any pages that have examples of wooden cage units, or even have the plans?

i appreciate any help i can get
thanks
aaron

Most Hardwood sealed will do the trick. Its sealing it that is the key. I use mostly melamine in my enclosures, but I will be using Birch ply in an up and coming project. I use Varathane Polyurathane and stain for wood treatment.

What species do you wnat to keep?
