V. Salvadorii's new cage..

Papusaurus Feb 21, 2006 11:22 AM

Hey everyone

These last few weeks have been very busy work for me. In between work and college, I have been in the process in constructing an 8ft long X 6ft wide X 6ft tall cage. It is completely insulated. I built each frame seperately with 2x4's and put plywood on the inside and the outside with R-19 insulation in between (the pink stuff). I did this because the cage is outdoors. Although I live in south Florida, the tempatures vary a bit much here. Well, enough talk and here are some pictures. Enjoy!

This was before I put the lights in and hide the wires.

I still have a few things to add. I have to put some logs and branches in there, as I dont want to limit there climbing oppurtunities. That is plastic mesh that you see in the pictures. It seems to be working very well so far. They climb all over it. And I also have some leaf litter to add. Im waiting on an email from someone for it. Well, thanks for looking.

Adrian

That's an interesting cage. You show alot of creativity in what you've done. I've used that mesh as well, though on sugar glider cages, and it allows good climbing opportunity. Just remember to include lots of humiditiy trapping hide spots at various temps. Good luck with those little crocs. You will love them. I raise up three and they are by far my favorite monitors.
