Proof, that my buddy KOKY has lost his mind!

Only someone who has been breathing way to much " toxic Miami air " would sell a female this gorgeous. However, I am glad he is! I have wanted this female, since she first came in from the wild. This is what I call a Southern Suriname. Most of the Surinames caught in the South Region, have a lighter more yellow coloration and are clean. Me and Crutchfield were discussing this the other day. She will fit in just fine, with my other giant and wild girls. Boas like this, usually will outlive anything captive in your collection, if taken cared of properly and not overfed. Love ya, Brother! You are making a mistake though and I am happy that you are. Just make sure you put the ticks in a seperate bag!!..Ha! Ha!........Johnson Herp

wow nice snake!!... what do you feed him?

kitchi Feb 21, 2006 05:17 PM

I have seen many snakes much longer and thicker than she including WC Retics 20+ ft which have the biggest heads of all and they were no where near 7" across from eye to eye.

I saw that one as well and was drooling over her...
How's her temperament?
Are they usually what you'd expect from WCs?
You say they usually live longer?
Do they typically get bigger as well?
You have some really cool giants. Do you usually get WCs that are already big and just maintain them?
Do you find that they get bigger than captive bred snakes?
Sorry about all the questions...
Thank you in advance though,
Aaron

Years and years ago, Big Female Boas would come in somewhat regularly. Now, it is very rare to land one over 7-8ft. That, however is a good thing. It is sad to see these huge females brought in from the wild. Who, knows? These Big females could be responsible for most of the population of Boas in their specific Geographic location. The females that I have, I required out of luck and just knowing people. They were already in the U.S. and would have been, wether I wanted them or not. These Boas do live very hardy lives, once they are acclimated. The key, is to just leave them alone and realize that; " THEY WILL NEVER BE PETS. " Not everyone, needs a Boa like these, for the reasons of unpredictability. They have absolutely NO PROBLEM ripping your head off, if given a chance. If you want a captive raised Boa, to live as strong and hardy as these, just do not overfeed it. If you raise your Boas very slow and give them good husbandry, you can have a snake that will live almost as long as you and not have to have one of these " Old Ancients. " .........Johnson Herp
