My guess would be probable. But whats the point? IMO can't see where the offspring would be any improvement over either species.

and many even more distant crosses have been done, lampropeltis X guttata, pituophis X obsoleta, pituophis X guttata, climacophora X guttata, etc. I recently remember seeing leucistic rat X pituophis (I think it was a gopher snake). Now for the most part there isn't a big advantage to mixing most of these species (of course many would disagree with me on this). There's not a very big following for them and often they don't turn out all that well.
With respect to transferring the leucistic gene to other species by hybridization, here's my thought. A leucistic snake is extremely striking in appearance. I like them a lot. But I don't think there's much difference between a leucistic rat and a leucistic corn or leucistic bullsnake (except for the size). So unless you're trying to make a much smaller or much larger leucistic snake I don't see the reason for a hybrid.
Best regards
John
Yes it has been done. I believe they call it a "pearl" corn... Corn are the genetic trash cans for hybridization(sp?)
It is a pitty. I am not necessarily against hybrids but with so many breeders mixing genes way too many are sold as pure.
