When I was getting my computer fixed, the guy who runs the shop asked me about snakes. He's always been interested in them but has never owned one. I was telling him a little about mine, and he mentioned that he almost had one once. The story went like this:
He knew someone who knew someone who needed to get rid of some ball pythons. The person he knew agreed to take an albino. This guy got her home, put her in a cage, and was getting used to keeping her. At this point, she changed the situation by laying half a dozen eggs. The guy just left them in the cage with her, and they hatched. The guy couldn't find space and cages for six more snakes, so he was getting rid of them. If my computer guy had been able to keep one, he would have gotten one.
I can't imagine why this guy would lie to me, but I am somewhat skeptical of the whole story. Mostly I remember thinking how most people around here would feel about getting a rescue albino that was full of eggs. I guess the offspring would be considerably less valuable than they would be if the father were known, but rescuing a pregnant albino still seems as if it would be a great score.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.
