Eastern Kingsnakes...New Jersey

garnet Jul 27, 2003 04:57 AM

If a New Jersey Eastern Kingsnake is born with very bright white stripes will they stay that way as the snake grows up? Also will the number of white strips increase or decrease over time?

Does this apply to other localities of eastern kings?

Thanks,
Garnet

Most Eastern Kings are born very bright and some are born with alot of red/orange in the crossbars(stripes). As far as do they remain white yes and no, some do some dont. Ive seen some hatch out rather drab and become decent looking adults as well. If you want to know if your King is going to remain bright white you need to look at the parents. Also Easterns dont gain anymore crossbars ever maybe a little lateral or dorsal speckling and thats about it.
