Breeding Laws in CA

ronin1360 Feb 21, 2006 08:42 PM

Right now my BPs are pets but further down the road I might start breeding them. Does anyone know what the laws are in CA in terms of breeding BPs? I would appreciate any info. Thanks in advance!

Its 100% perfectly legal with no need for permits of any kind. Some towns have a limit on the # of animals of any kind you can own but that is up to the individual municipality.

I live in CA and I think there are certain restictions for every county. I'm in Alameda County and our restictions are 6 snakes or any snake 6 feet long or you need a permit. As far as the permit goes I looked into it and it's easy to get and all it does is tell the county to come out and inspect the animals once a year to make sure they are being housed and kept up properly.
