I just got my first veiled about two weeks ago and in the past two days he has been hanging from the ceiling with all fours and sometimes even sleeping like that. i was just curious, is this normal in a 5 week old veiled?

Don't panic - this happens quite a bit with young ones.
What size cage do you have for him? A 5wk-old is usually quite small and can be intimidated by too big of a cage. Do you have branches or bendable wines near the top of his cage?

Also, just be sure the mesh isn't in contact with the basking bulb dome or bulb. Don't want him to burn himself. Check the temperature of the mesh itself so you know.
The cage definately is really large for his size, four feet tall and 2X2. Is it necessary to make a temporary move into a small glass terrarium or should he be ok with the large cage till he grows into it?
Ahhhh... the super-sized cage!
Well, unless you have tons of foliage near the very top of his enormous cage - he will hang from the top.
One way to fix things is by elevating the plants you have. If possible, make a false bottom to the cage and sit it inside. Then add the plants and branches. Once he has grown into the size, you can remove the false bottom and utilize the entire cage.
As Carlton mentioned - be sure the mesh at the top doesn't burn his feet - or belly!
