Evidence of being het albino?

trubluker Feb 21, 2006 10:50 PM

Hey all,

I've heard it a few times that some breeders, especially in hypos, notice that a het albino animal may have 1 or a few white scales. Not everyone, but when in doubt, hold it back and prove it.

What do others think about this?? Only reason i'm curious is because I have a Motley poss. het and have notice 1 or 2 solid white scales where they shouldn't be.

Any thoughts? Will post picture of it later on. Doesn't show in pic below...but thats him.

Thanks

hmmmmm, never heard of it. Most people would agree its strictly a chance that has to be proven out through breeding...

However, this may not be completely crazy. I have a 6'6" 100% het albino female from 2004, with such white scales. I'd say maybe 15 of them in a small blotch about 1/3rd of the way down her body. So perhaps.....

May not be the rule that ALL hets have them, but I don't see it as impossible. But then again, could some normals with no chance at all of being het, could they have the same white scales?

I was wondering the same thing. I have a poss het albino that has two or three white scales where they shouldn't be. It will be intersting to see if she proves out or not. She has a 66% chance so if she doesn't prove then I guess it will throw that theory out the winder....

...arabesques that are het for albino are highly speckled.
