saw something weird.

today i noticed that there was this whiteish type string type object hanging from the anus of my map turtle. It looked weird and so didn't mess with him, but anyone know what it is? they are sheddin the rest of their skin but it sure looks like it's coming from inside. Maybe it's the fact that I haven't had much schoolwork and so I stare at them half the day, but I've never seen this on my other turtles. thanks

It could very well be a tapeworm. My florida softshell got it and it pretty much took his life...became lethargic, shell wasn't growing, etc.

I'd have it checked out asap and if you can bring a piece of the stringy white stuff, even better.

I just saw the same thing in a 5 inch red eared slider. I think it is tape worms. Anyone know what ti give for it and dosage?
