24 hour lighting? ? ?? better or not good or. . . .

hsould i just stick wit 12 on and 12 off? ? ? ?
also wut times do you guys turn um on/off if i should not keep on my lights 24/7

I use a red light so its on 24 hours, that way I dont have to keep changing bulbs. The red will not effect them. But if you use a regular light and never turn it off it will stress the snake out because they do not have eyelids and will not be able to sleep. When I got my first snake I did not even think of that. Until I asked what size bulb to use and the guy gave me a red one and I aksed.
