Its not advisable to put them in with another species and its also not advisable to put two veileds together no matter what sex they are.
not being hardheaded, just asking because i've seen a reptile store kep bibron geckos with a chameleon in the same tank.
So basically (as with most animals) it stays alone?
thanks
When I first started keeping reptiles, I tried keeping some together because I didn't know any better. An adult bibrons might survive with a chameleon for some time....but he could also end up being chameleon food.
Mixing wild caught species with other wild caught ones means that you are passing the germs from one to the other and vice versa. Each may be able to handle its own germs and not get sick, but if it picks up some germs from a different species, it might not be able to handle them....not to mention parasites.
If they are putting a WC with a CB, then they are putting the CB at risk and whoever buys the CB might not realize that it could very well end up getting sick because it ended up with the bacteria or parasites of the WC.
Another thing to consider is that they might both come from different environments...one dry and the other humid....for instance.
That's just a few reasons why its not a good idea for mixing species in the same cage.
Regarding keeping two chameleons together....some people have done it with certain chameleons and in very larege cages, but it requires quite a bit of knowledge so that the person notices the silent signs of stress.
Hope this helps!
Yea my local petstore was keeping three veiled in the same cage. all three looked pethetic. Baught the female and she's doing great. however the 2 males are both dark in color and look sickly. Also don't think they are feeding them enough. look starved and scrawny.
