Cranky Gravid female, not gravid no more!

tailswithscales Feb 22, 2006 08:12 PM

This morning she dropped a nice clutch of six eggs!!!! I caught right at the end of her laying. And boy was she all hissed off.

I had been checking her every morning and evening and right before I was set to leave for work (07:05) I looked in her bin and found this;

I jumped out of my skin! I mean I felt (literally) that she had three maybe four eggs in her but she surprised me with six and all are fertile. I caught her this morning right after she had finished laying the last egg. Tonight (17:05) I quickly checked on her and snapped off a picture of her coiled around them.

Anyway........I 1) Just wanted to share my enthusiasm for this is my first clutch of 06. And 2) Ask Is six eggs a lot for a 1st time clutch???
What do you guys think???

Awesome clutch! Do you plan on letting her incubate them? - she doesn't look like she would be too happy if you decided not too. I have a girl who is in her prelay shed at the moment and I've often wondered how fun it would be to have to take her eggs away from her! She's a fiery one even when she's not guarding anything.
