puffman Feb 22, 2006 08:36 PM

just had our first hatchling from a clutch laid 12/18/05...AMAZING....but now what....took it out of the incubator and put it in a 5 gal tank with paper towel on floor....basking light a 60 watt bulb and a heat mat on under bottom of tank...two toilet paper tubes for shelter and a baby food lid with carrot and bean baby food mixed up in it....gonna chase some 1/4 in crickets down tomorrow for attempted feeding...what else can anyone suggest? Any help or insight would be appreciated.....thank you in advance for any help or advice someone could give! It's been a great experience for our family to this point! regards PUFF

Move them into a separate tub as they hatch, a damp paper towel on the bottom and leave them in the incubator for 24-48 hours (until the egg sack absoarbs). After that move them into their cages. I usually get mine eating finely chopped greens first, it will take a week or so before they start usually, they're living off of their egg sack until then. After they're eating the greens for a couple days I'll start offering small crix 3-5 times a day as many as they'll eat in 15 minutes no larger than the space between their eyes. Also don't forget to mist them several times a day and dust their food at least once a day depending on your dusts.
