Burm girth compared to retic hgirth and weight?

heffner2212 Feb 22, 2006 09:38 PM

Ok well im thinking of getting a retic or burm as everyone knows....but the thing is I like thick snakes. But I want a male of 1 of them and I know they dont get too lengthy. The thing is I like retics but they seem really skinny??? And are retics chill like burms and will just be calm and lay on you? I like that or are they always very fussy? Howmuch does a full growm male retic weigh? How bout a male burm? Sorry for all the questions lol im just very confused .....Also I would like to see some pics if anyone has any of size comparisons and girth and stuff lol thanks alot

If you want a thick, easy going pet snake your best bet is to go with a male burm. While male retics can be very laid back in terms of overall dispositions they are always on the move. They will not just lay on you as you watch television. Most male burms won't usually lie still either, but there is a much greater posibility of this with a burm than with a retic. Plus burms just plain move more slowly so it would be a lot less effort to control one.

As far as average girth goes... A 10 foot male burm will usually be about as thick as a 13 foot retic. Or a 12 foot burm about the same as a 16 foot retic. Give or take a little.
