Aquaponics??

thebersrkr Feb 23, 2006 12:28 AM

Hello there all! Long time no post. I am wondering if anyone out there has looked into using aquaponics as a means to keep our water filtered for our crocs? I have been doing some research on the subject in which water from fish tanks is filtered through plants. The outcome are large amounts of both fish (usually talapia) and plants (usually lettuce) which can be sold for profit. Some projects are saying that 600 lbs of fish per six weeks and 500lbs of lettuce every 2 weeks are possible. Could this be used as a means to filter our water or possibly a new and easily replenished food source for the crocs?? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Chris

This fish would just produce more waste, but it still may work. You will still need to do water chanes to take out the big stuff.
