alligator lizard eggs - please help!

My a.l. layed 13 eggs a week ago that looked like yellow lemon drop candies. They do not look like traditional eggs. Is this normal? I have them in a plastic container on moist sand with a few airholes. However, they are getting "furry" and appear to be molding. Is there anything I can do to save these eggs?

When the eggs come out yellow and poorly calcified, or feel flacid like a partially full water balloon, they are infertile. The fuzz you see is mold. If any eggs feel firm and have a leathery white shell, place them in some damp vermiculite in a container like you described, then place them in a location where the temperature is in the 70's and stays relatively constant, and they should hatch in a couple months. If you are unsure whether or not an egg is fertile, hold it up to a bright light, a fertile egg will usually have a red or pinkish glow or you may be able to see red blood vessels, an infertile egg will appear yellow and blood vessels will be absent.
Hope this helps
