shedding Jackson's

alanvines Jul 27, 2003 09:36 AM

My Jax all have stubborn patches of skin that is loose but still sticking on them. They get misted often, about five times a day. The skin comes off easily if i pull, but I'd rather not stress them out by having to touch them, they stop eating from my fingers after handling. How long do they usually retain old skin? They all started shedding about the same time, which seems odd to me. they have had extra shed skin on them for about a week now, and I know this can harbor germs etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. By the way I talked to a guy in Arkansas who successfully breeds pygmy leafs (but does not sell them) He says the females are just made with weaker organs than the males. Not a perfect answer to our questions, but at least it is feedback from a successful breeder.
