For what animal? I mean, for an adult Cal king, you only really need the 11x11 or even just the 6x11. But for an adult ball python or a 3ft boa you might want the 11x17 or other appropriate size.

Taylor your rack for what animals go in it, not just for the size box that you use.

Then you'll need to cover at least 1/3 of the box floor area with heat, unless your room is heated. I go 1/2 of the floor area heated for my tropical animals. Make sure you have a thermostat.
