bloody slime after mating

Aka2212 Feb 23, 2006 10:13 AM

Hi,

My L.g. nigrita was together for the 3. time yesterday and i observed copulation also for the 3. time. but when they had finished and i wanted to seperate them i found this bloody slime in the substrate. Anyone experienced anything like this?

I suppose there was left close to half a teaspoon of this bloody substance, so it was not just from a little scrath.

I examined both snakes but found not cuts and there was no blood near the cloaca of any of the snakes.

Kind Regards
Jakob

It's probably just typical sexual by-product . Put some on a microscope slide and see if you have fertile sperm.
